It has been a pleasure to see so many spectacular entries this year. Your photographs took us to remote communities, wildlife-filled savannahs and intimate moments along the road. Choosing this year's winners was a genuine challenge. Thank you to everyone who entered and shared their work with us.
Winner - Martin Price
"We visited the Pantanal as part of a trip to the three biomes of the Mato Grosso state of Brazil, the others being the Amazonian Rainforest and the Cerrado. The main draw of the Pantanal was of course the Jaguars and we saw plenty including a mother and two cubs.
We stayed on a floating hotel enabling us to reach the prime spots by boat much quicker than from a land based lodge. The guides and boat drivers were excellent and knew where to position the boat so as not to disturb the wildlife and get great photos. A great trip that I would thoroughly recommend," says Martin.
Runners-up
Our runners-up were placed into three shortlists: People, Place and Wildlife. From these shortlists our judging panel voted to choose at least one winner in each category, recognising images that capture human moments, striking settings and unexpected encounters.
(Order of appearance: Eileen Knudson, Julie Cawthorpe, Tim Flesher, Mark Bannister)
